Hi, I’m Freddy! Last weekend, I had the coolest idea ever—I decided to start my very own lemonade and orange juice stand. It all started when I saw kids in the neighborhood selling lemonade, and I thought, “Why not try something different and add orange juice too?” .

I went to my dad and told him my big idea. “Dad,” I said, “I want to start a lemonade and orange juice stand business, like how you have a business.”

Dad smiled and said, “That is a great idea. Lets do it. Do you know what you will need?”

Freddy replied, "I will need lemons, oranges, sugar, cups, and maybe even a sign. Do we have any?"

"No, we do not have all of those, but we can go to the store to buy some." Dad grabbed his keys and drove us to the store.

At check out, the total was $112.07. I scanned my card. "That took off $54.68. Your total is $57.39."

I looked at Dad, "I can help Cover the difference, but remember, you’ll need to pay me back from what you earn.”

“Deal!” I said, feeling like a real entrepreneur.

On Friday morning, I set up my stand at the corner of our street. My sign read, “Freddy’s Fresh Lemonade and Orange Juice—$1 a cup!” I was so excited, but… no one came.

I sat there for what felt like forever, staring at the empty street. “What if this was a bad idea?” I thought. But Dad came by to check on me and said, “Freddy, don’t give up. Sometimes good things just take time.”

So, I waited and smiled at every car that passed. A couple of neighbors stopped by and bought some juice, which made me feel better. I figured that was a good start!

The day ended, and we decided to sell through the rest of the weekend.

Saturday started slow. My best friend Timmy came over and said, “Freddy, your juice is awesome! I’ll tell everyone I know to come by.” He even posted about my stand on his mom’s social media account. Word started to spread, and a few more people came to check out my juice.

Then, my uncle drove by and shouted, “This is the best lemonade I’ve ever had!” That made me laugh—and it also brought more customers because they overheard him. By the end of the day, I had sold quite a few cups, but I knew I needed to step it up on Sunday.

On Sunday morning, I had an idea to make things more exciting. I added a special deal—buy two cups, get a discount on the third. And guess what? It worked! People loved the idea.

The street started getting busier with kids, parents, and even a couple walking their dog. Everyone wanted to try my fresh juice. I felt like a real business owner, pouring drinks as fast as I could while keeping track of my money.

By Sunday evening, I had earned $507. That was more than enough to pay Dad back! When I showed him the money, he smiled proudly. “Great job, Freddy! You worked hard, stuck with it, and now you can pay back your loan and still have plenty left.”

I handed Dad the $60 and he gave me $2.61 in change. It felt so good to pay him back. With the money I had left, I decided to save some for my next stand, spend a little on a new soccer ball, and donate a few dollars to the animal shelter.

Starting my lemonade and orange juice stand taught me so much about hard work, patience, and how to make smart decisions with money. Who knows? Maybe next weekend, I’ll add smoothies to the menu!
